About Us

Maasai Kajiado Women Dairy Cooperative Society Ltd. (MKWDCS) is a women-led dairy cooperative transforming lives in the heart of Kajiado County. From humble beginnings under a tree at Ilbissil, we've grown into a registered cooperative with over 3,400 members, championing smallholder women dairy farmers and producing premium-quality organic milk.

Our Mission

We exist to improve the livelihoods of women smallholder dairy farmers, employees, and the wider community by focusing on impact-driven initiatives that touch every part of the value chain.

High-Quality Dairy Products

We are committed to marketing organic milk and dairy products that meet nutritional needs and compete in both local and regional markets. By creating a reliable outlet for farmers’ produce, we ensure fair returns and steady income for our members.

Sustainable Farming Practices

To safeguard the future of farming, we actively support sustainable practices that protect the environment while increasing productivity. From proper animal husbandry to climate-smart methods, we guide our farmers toward long-term resilience.

Breed Improvement and A.I. Services

We promote breed improvement and facilitate access to artificial insemination (A.I.) services. This ensures healthier cows, higher yields, and improved profitability for smallholder farmers.

Affordable Services and Financing

We work to make production services and financing more accessible. This helps farmers reduce costs, adopt modern technologies, and grow their enterprises with confidence.

Women Empowerment

Above all, we are dedicated to empowering women through continuous training, strong partnerships, and active advocacy. By giving women the skills, voice, and opportunities they deserve, we are building stronger families, sustainable communities, and a brighter future for all.

Our Values

Self-help & Self-responsibility

At the heart of MKWDCS is the belief that women can take charge of their own progress. By working together, our members practice self-help, using collective strength to overcome challenges and create opportunities. Each member also embraces self-responsibility, recognizing that personal commitment and accountability are key to building a stronger cooperative.

Democracy, Equality, & Equity

We uphold democracy by ensuring that every member has an equal voice in decision-making. Equality and equity are central to our operations — we strive to provide fair opportunities regardless of background, and we distribute benefits in ways that uplift all members. This approach ensures that no one is left behind as the cooperative grows.

Solidarity, Honesty, & Openness

Our success is built on solidarity — standing together in unity and supporting one another. Honesty and openness guide our interactions, fostering trust among members, partners, and the wider community. By being transparent in our operations, we strengthen the bonds that hold us together.

Social Responsibility & Care for Others

MKWDCS goes beyond business to embrace social responsibility. We are committed to improving the well-being of our members, their families, and the community at large. Through acts of care, training, and community development initiatives, we ensure that our growth translates into positive change for everyone around us.

These values are not just words — they guide every decision, every service, and every drop of milk we produce.
